The 9 Three 5 Wheel Set is designed to resemble the popular turbofan wheel configuration of several decades ago. The forged mono-block construction is styled to be more complementary to the modern GT2RS form.

The wheels are forged from 6061 aluminum and subsequently machined on a 5-axis milling machine. Though the original turbofan employed a sheet metal impeller, the use of 5-axis machining facilitates a more robust and attractive monolithic construction. The wheels are finished in a powder-coating process with strict time and temperature controls to preserve the heat treat of the original forging.
