Rattrapante

The Rattrapante passage lock is based on designs and uses finishes borrowed from classical horology. These details are scaled up by approximately 8 times in order to produce a “super scale” version of the mechanisms.

The locking device is based on several different split-seconds or Ratrapannte caliper systems with a focus on symmetry and elegant forms.

The design of the assembly accommodates both left and right hand door swings from the same component set.

Installiation

Each ship set includes; lock, Handles, Strike plate and bolt assembly along with instructions for door and casework mortising and installation.

The careful finishing of each component faithfully replicates those found on the movements of the highest grade mechanical wristwatches. These finishes include linear and circular graining, black polish, pearlage and anglage techniques.

Materials used in the assembly include 4 different stainless steel alloys (depending on functional requirements), Brass and Bison or Crocodile hide.
